YS Jagan hints Cabinet, raises pensions to Rs 3,000; Elections expected in February

YS Jagan hints Cabinet, raises pensions to Rs 3,000; Elections expected in February

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has informed his Ministers to be prepared for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections by February 2024. The Centre might release the election notification earlier than expected, possibly in late March or early April. In a Cabinet meeting, YS Jagan emphasized the need for ministers to work efficiently at the field level and complete pending tasks by the first week of February.

Several important decisions were made during the Cabinet meeting, including:
– Increasing pensions from Rs 2,750 to Rs 3,000 starting from January 2024.
– Approving a 15% increase in allowance for those involved in anti-naxal operations.
– Discussing the payment of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to court staff and pensioners on par with Central Government employees.
– Allocating 110 plots of land under fifty acres to APIIC.
– Taking a loan of Rs 552 crore for the AP State CCTV surveillance project.
– Discussing the proposal for an additional district sessions court in Tadepalligudem of West Godavari district.
– Considering the creation of 982 temporary posts for the conduct of general elections.
– Approving the allocation of 20 cents of land for the AP CID regional office at Rayanapadu in Vijayawada.
– Supporting decisions made by the Cabinet sub-committee and steering committee for YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha Scheme.
– Increasing the treatment cost limit to Rs 25 lakh under Arogyashree.
– Implementing YSR Asara and Cheyutha Schemes in January.
– Approving the Light Metro Project in Visakhapatnam based on the DPR.
– Starting the second phase of Jagananna Arogya Suraksha from January.
– Implementing reforms in granting caste and income certificates.
