Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made an emotional appeal to the people to attend the unveiling of the 206-foot Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Vijayawada on January 19. The Chief Minister described the statue as the greatest sculpture of social justice in the state and the country. He also mentioned that the statue, standing at 125 feet tall with an 81-foot pedestal, is the tallest Ambedkar statue in the world.

According to the Chief Minister, Dr Ambedkar’s ideas and individuality will continue to influence and change the social, economic, and political history of the country. He emphasized that the statue represents the Government’s commitment to implementing welfare schemes based on Dr Ambedkar’s ideology.

The Chief Minister highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s rebellion against untouchability and his efforts to bring education closer to oppressed classes. He stated that Dr Ambedkar’s statues in every hamlet serve as an inspiration for the weaker sections of society.

The unveiling of the Ambedkar statue in Vijayawada will be a historic event that will continue to inspire future generations. The Chief Minister believes that honoring Dr Ambedkar and following his ideology will bring about positive changes in the lives of Dalits and the poor.

He expressed his hope that the statue will empower the poor and bring about social equality by challenging feudalistic forces and reforming society. The Chief Minister is confident that this event will have a lasting impact on the political landscape of the state.
