Two YouTubers, Revathi Pogadadanda and Thanvi Yadav, have been granted bail after being arrested earlier this month. They were taken into custody for allegedly sharing content critical of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Revathi is the Managing Director of Pulse Digital News Network, while Thanvi is an employee at the same organization.
Their lawyer, Jakkula Ramesh, argued that the arrests were politically motivated and carried out under pressure. However, the prosecution opposed their bail, stating that further investigation was necessary.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court decided in favor of the YouTubers. They were granted bail under the condition that they provide two sureties of ₹25,000 each. They are expected to be released from Chanchalguda Special Prison for Women by Monday evening.
This case has sparked discussions among media professionals and digital rights activists. Many are concerned about its impact on online journalism and free speech in Telangana.
