Mark Wood, the England pace bowler, has credited his bowling coach Morne Morkel for helping him prepare for his IPL debut with Lucknow Super Giants. Wood returned figures of 5/14 in his team’s 50-run win against Delhi Capitals. Wood had previously played for Chennai Super Kings but struggled with injury and form. He said that Morkel had helped him keep things simple in training, similar to what he does when playing for England. Wood also praised his captain KL Rahul and said that the team was delighted to win their first-ever home match since being inducted into the IPL last season.
