Former Zilla Parishad Chairperson and Congress leader Sarithamma honored municipal women sanitation workers in Jogulamba Gadwal district. The event took place at Rajiv Gandhi Circle on Saturday as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations. It was organized by Youth Congress District President R. Tirumalesh, along with other Youth Congress members.
During the event, municipal women sanitation workers and Women’s Congress leaders paid floral tributes to the statue of Indira Gandhi. The gathering also included a ceremonial lamp lighting, cake cutting, and the distribution of sweets. Sarithamma recognized the hard work and dedication of the sanitation workers by distributing sarees as a token of appreciation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sarithamma emphasized the need for women to excel in all fields alongside men. She encouraged women to move forward with self-respect and fight for their rights. Despite progress, she noted that gender discrimination still exists in society. She urged women to continue working hard to eliminate this inequality and achieve true gender equality.
