Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and senior officials, met Wipro Limited Executive Chairman Rishad Premji at the World Economic Forum in Davos. During the meeting, Wipro announced plans to expand its investments in Telangana, further solidifying its presence in the state.

As part of this expansion, Wipro will set up a new IT center in Gopanapally, located within Hyderabad’s Financial District. This project is expected to create 5,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the region. Additionally, Wipro’s existing campus in Hyderabad will also see further development, underlining the company’s commitment to the city’s growing IT ecosystem.

Hyderabad, already an important hub for Wipro, is set to benefit significantly from these initiatives. The new IT center is anticipated to be completed in the next two to three years, which will further strengthen Telangana’s reputation as a global destination for IT investments.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed Wipro’s announcement and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting major corporations. He emphasized that Telangana would continue to foster a business-friendly environment and provide all the necessary assistance to companies like Wipro.

Rishad Premji, Executive Chairman of Wipro, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with the Telangana government. He stated, “We are excited to collaborate with the Telangana government to encourage innovation and create opportunities. Telangana’s efforts in promoting skill development and fostering a conducive business environment align perfectly with Wipro’s vision.”

During the meeting, Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu invited Wipro to collaborate on various skill development initiatives led by the state government, including the Young India Skills University. He highlighted the government’s focus on equipping the workforce with industry-relevant skills to meet the demands of the technology sector.

Wipro’s expansion is expected to boost Telangana’s technology sector, generate employment, and further cement Hyderabad’s position as a leading IT hub in the country.
