Hyderabad: Dissatisfaction Among MLAs Sparks Discussion Within Party

A group of MLAs from the Congress party, primarily representing the districts of Warangal, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar, reportedly held a meeting on Friday night to express their grievances. They were upset over a Cabinet Minister’s alleged disregard for their requests to clear pending bills and delays in releasing funds. However, the party leadership has denied that such a meeting took place.

According to sources, the meeting was hosted by Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy at a hotel. It was attended by MLAs Nayini Rajender Reddy, Bhoopathi Reddy, Yennamalla Srinivas Reddy, Muralinayak, K Rajesh Reddy, Sanjeev Reddy, Donthi Madhav Reddy, and Beera Ilaiah. The gathering reportedly focused on sharing concerns about the Minister’s attitude toward them and discussing future steps. As news of the meeting spread, PCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud reached out to the MLAs to understand the situation. Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Ministers to address any communication gaps with the MLAs.

Nagarkurnool MP Denies Dissent, Calls It a Dinner Party

Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi dismissed reports of dissent among the MLAs. On Saturday, he clarified that the meeting was merely a dinner party hosted by Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy at a hotel. According to Ravi, the gathering was informal, and while some issues were discussed, they were not of the nature being speculated online. “How does a few MLAs gathering at a single place signify dissent?” he asked.

The MP further explained that the MLAs had attended the dinner and later decided to meet the concerned Minister to expedite certain proposals. He alleged that the BRS party’s social media was portraying the gathering as a sign of discord within the Congress.

Anirudh Reddy Acknowledges Discussion Among MLAs

Interestingly, Anirudh Reddy confirmed on Sunday that the meeting did indeed take place, but he emphasized that its purpose was to address issues faced by the legislators. He stated that the meeting was not secretive and was centered on development matters relevant to their constituencies.

“It is entirely appropriate for MLAs to come together and deliberate on such issues,” he said. Anirudh Reddy added that the group plans to bring their concerns, along with evidence, to the attention of AICC Telangana in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi. “We will disclose everything after meeting with the Congress leadership,” he assured.
