Voter ID card is necessary for voting in elections. However, according to the election rules, voting can also be done with other identity cards approved by the Election Commission.
If you don’t have a voter ID card, an identity card will suffice. First, visit the BLO (Booth Level Officer) at the center. They will check the voter list and provide you with a slip that includes your serial number and name. Then, go to the place where you have voted in the past and meet the BLO there.
Citizens have various options to exercise their right to vote, including Photo Voter Slip, Photo Identity Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Passport Book issued by Banks and Post Offices (with photo), and PAN Card.
Voters can also use census-based smart cards, MNRGA job cards, health insurance smart cards issued by the Union Ministry of Labour, pension documents with photo, and authorization documents issued to MPs, MLAs, and MLCs.
Remember, it is important to have a valid identity card when casting your vote.
