Weavers in Aiza town, located in Alampur Taluka of Jogulamba Gadwal district, showed their gratitude towards Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in a unique way. They performed a milk ablution for his portrait near the town’s new bus stand. This gesture was in appreciation of the Chief Minister’s efforts to support their community through the recently announced Telangana Chenetha Abhayahastam Scheme.
On January 10, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy issued guidelines for implementing this scheme. A government order (GO) was released, detailing three major components aimed at aiding weavers:
1. Nethanna Podupu Thrift Fund
2. Nethanna Bhadrata (Weavers’ Insurance)
3. Nethanna Bharosa Scheme
As part of the ceremony, the weavers decorated the Chief Minister’s portrait with garlands. They also extended their heartfelt thanks to both the Chief Minister and Handlooms Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao for their efforts in addressing the challenges faced by their community.
During the event, the weavers spoke about the significance of these initiatives. They emphasized how the schemes could provide much-needed financial security, insurance coverage, and overall support for their trade. The weavers expressed hope that these measures would improve their livelihoods and thanked the state government for its dedication to their welfare.
