Water Supply Disruption in Hyderabad on February 17
The Hyderabad Water Board has announced that water supply will be disrupted in several parts of the city for 24 hours. The disruption will begin at 6 AM on February 17 and continue until February 18.
Officials stated that this is due to the installation of 900 mm dia valves (BF and NRV) in the 3,000 mm dia MS pumping main at the Kondapaka pumping station. This station is part of the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Phase-1, which supplies drinking water to Hyderabad.
As a result, several areas will face water shortages. These areas include SR Nagar, Sanath Nagar, Borabanda, SPR Hills, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, Vengal Rao Nagar, Yellareddyguda, Somajiguda, Fatehnagar, Bhagyanagar, Vivekananda Nagar, Yellammabanda, Moosapet, Chintal, Suchitra, Jeedimetla, Hafeezpet, and Miyapur.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has requested residents in these areas to use water carefully and avoid wastage during this period.
