Hyderabad Water Board Managing Director, Ashok Reddy, inspected the Hyder Nagar reservoir on Tuesday.
A leak was recently found in a 1500 mm diameter PSC pumping main near Mughal Restaurant on Old Bombay Highway. Because of this, the water board had to carry out repair work. The repairs were completed on Tuesday, and the water supply to the affected reservoirs resumed early in the morning.
Speaking about the issue, Ashok Reddy explained that the water supply had to be stopped in some areas during the repairs, and water was provided through tankers instead. He mentioned that the work took longer than expected because the damaged pipe was over 30 years old. However, the necessary welding equipment and tools were arranged, and the work was completed with the help of the water board’s technical team.
After inspecting the reservoir, Ashok Reddy also visited the Quality Assurance Wing (QAT) lab located on the reservoir premises. He then checked the tanker filling station before concluding his visit.
