Warning Issued to Tax Defaulters Regarding Strict Actions

The Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) has been cracking down on property tax defaulters in the city. Additional Commissioner Swaroop Rani led revenue teams that issued notices to those who owe taxes on Friday. City Mayor Yadagiri Sunil and Commissioner Seva Islawat have ordered the revenue department to take special measures to collect property tax from delinquent residents.

The KMC’s revenue teams have been contacting residents and business owners who have not paid their taxes despite being given multiple notices. In the past, those who did not respond were issued warrants and had their properties locked until they paid their taxes. As the financial year ends on March 31, defaulters are urged to pay their taxes on time. Failure to do so could result in confiscation of their property as per the Municipal Act.
