Property Tax Collection to Be Expedited in Wanaparthy
The District Collector of Wanaparthy, Adarsh Surabhi, has called for faster collection of property taxes in all municipalities within the district. He discussed this during a meeting held at the Collectorate’s conference hall on Tuesday, attended by Municipal Commissioners and Additional Collector Local Bodies, Sanchit Gangwar.
To ensure timely tax collection, Collector Surabhi directed officials to send notices to residents who have not yet paid their property taxes. Notices will be delivered using both postal services and bill collectors. He also emphasized the importance of speeding up the collection of water utility taxes.
To make the process more convenient, the Collector suggested sending payment notifications through WhatsApp, including links for digital payments. Additionally, announcements about tax collection will be made using municipality vehicles equipped with microphones.
The officials were given a deadline to complete the distribution of tax notices by the end of the month. Special camps for property tax collection will be organized across all municipalities starting February 1. The Collector stressed the need to meet collection targets and urged officials to focus on increasing trade license revenue as well.
In a move to improve municipal services, the Collector introduced a weekly “Revision Mela” to be held every Wednesday. During this event, residents will have access to services such as property name changes, mutation services, and house number allocations or updates. He encouraged citizens to utilize these services for better governance.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioners and other officials, all working toward boosting municipal revenue and improving public service delivery.
