Voters in Chevella reject candidates' persona

In Chevella, voters are struggling to choose the right candidate during the ongoing election campaigns. Many voters feel that most candidates in the poll battle are not effective based on their past performances and abilities.

The Chevella Lok Sabha segment includes seven assembly constituencies: Maheshwaram, Rajendranagar, Serilingampally, Chevella, Pargi, Vikarabad, and Tandur. Four of these constituencies are in Rangareddy district, while the other three are in Vikarabad district.

There are a total of 29,19,465 voters in the segment, with 14,94,876 male voters, 14,24,312 female voters, and 277 third gender voters.

Issues like encroachments on government lands, lakes, and flood flow canals, as well as violations of town planning regulations and misuse of open plots meant for public amenities, are common complaints in all seven assembly segments of the Chevella LS segment.

Many voters view candidates in the Chevella segment as unwelcome due to these issues. Some voters believe that previous candidates have not effectively addressed these problems.

Social activist A Anil Kumar mentioned concerns about land encroachments during the tenure of the BJP candidate Vishweshwar Reddy and his successor Dr. Ranjith Reddy. Many voters are upset with Dr. Ranjith Reddy’s performance during his time as MP and may not support him in the upcoming election.

Community activist Syed Shoukat Ali expressed disappointment in both Vishweshwar Reddy and Dr. Ranjith Reddy for not addressing voter concerns during their terms. He criticized the lack of attention to issues in the Rajendranagar constituency, where minority votes are crucial.

Overall, voters in Chevella are disillusioned with the candidates seeking their mandate and feel that their sufferings have been ignored by those in power.
