With just two weeks remaining until the Assembly elections, some citizens in Hyderabad are using videos and audios to raise awareness and encourage voting, particularly among first-time voters. One of these citizens is G Ramesh, the Additional Director of School Education in Telangana, who has composed a voter awareness song. The Election Commission has given permission to use this audio in various campaigns.
Ramesh explained that the purpose of the audio is to create awareness among citizens. Compared to other states, the polling percentage in Telangana, especially in urban areas, was very low during the 2018 elections (around 50%). Ramesh hopes that his song will motivate people and make them aware of the importance of voting.
Similarly, advocate and motivational speaker Ramesh Pittla Mudhiraj has created around 65 videos on YouTube and other social media platforms to motivate citizens to vote. These videos discuss how to be aware of crimes during elections and emphasize the importance of voting. Mudhiraj believes that voting is a way for citizens to respect the Constitution and use their power to bring about positive change in society.
Syed Khaled Shah Chishti Hussaini, the secretary of the United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations, also stressed the importance of voting. His organization has created motivational videos on voting rights and is visiting colonies to raise awareness about voting.
Overall, these citizens are working hard to create awareness and motivate voters to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Assembly elections.
