Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Train Gets More Coaches
The Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express train has been upgraded with additional coaches. Starting January 11, the train will operate with 20 coaches instead of the earlier 16.
Previously, the train had a total passenger capacity of 1,128 with 16 coaches. With the addition of four more coaches, the capacity has now increased to 1,440 passengers. This change will take effect from Saturday.
According to South Central Railways (SCR), the train, numbered 20833/20834, was initially launched with 16 coaches, including two executive class and 14 chair cars. Since its introduction, the train has been running at over 130% occupancy due to high demand. To accommodate more passengers, the railways decided to add four additional coaches.
The updated composition now includes 18 chair cars with a capacity of 1,336 passengers (up from 1,024) and two executive class coaches that can seat 104 passengers. This brings the total capacity to 1,440.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of SCR, noted that this change comes at the perfect time as the Sankranti festival approaches. With the increased capacity, more passengers will be able to travel to their hometowns to celebrate the festival with their families.
