Mumbai rapper Divine paid tribute to Punjabi singer-rapper Siddhu Moose Wala during his performance at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final. Moose Wala was shot dead by gangsters in the Mansa district of Punjab, India, and gained popularity for his Punjabi music with folk and hip-hop influences. During the mid-innings of the Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans match, Divine asked the crowd to repeat Moose Wala’s name and dedicated his performance to him. The closing ceremony took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Earlier in the match, B Sai Sudharsan scored a terrific 96, leading defending champions Gujarat Titans to set Chennai Super Kings an imposing target of 215 in the IPL final. Sudharsan made his runs from just 46 balls, striking eight fours and six sixes. After Shubman Gill perished for 39 and Wriddhiman Saha failed to go beyond his half-century, Sudharsan was able to forge crucial partnerships and help GT post a formidable 214/4.
