VHP Leaders Urge Governor's Intervention in Shrine Lathi Charge Incident

Hyderabad: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders approached Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday to discuss the recent police action at the Mutyalamma temple. They sought the Governor’s help regarding a lathi charge on devotees by the police and asked him to protect those affected.

A group of VHP leaders, including M Rama Raju, met the Governor at Raj Bhavan. They explained that during a peaceful protest at the temple, the police, led by the local Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), acted aggressively. The police ordered a lathi charge on the Hindu devotees, which resulted in injuries.

Some devotees were seriously injured, with some suffering head injuries. Additionally, the VHP leaders claimed that hundreds of devotees were being unfairly targeted and charged with illegal cases.

The VHP delegation demanded that all illegal cases against the devotees be dropped. They also called for the suspension of the police officers involved, accusing the police of using force to cover up their own failures.

The VHP leaders further alleged that the police had failed to arrest Munavar Jama, a trainer who had allegedly provided terrorist training at a local hotel. They questioned why the police had not taken action against around 150 individuals who had come from other areas for the training. They also claimed that the police had been hiding these people while unfairly registering cases against others who were not even part of the temple rally.
