VHP calls for action against Hyderabad CM for 'offending Hindu sentiments'

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Hyderabad has asked the Election Commission to take action against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for upsetting Hindus. VHP leaders met with CEO Vikas Raj to express their concerns about Revanth Reddy’s comments criticizing Hinduism, beliefs, and deities like Lord Shri Ram and Sita Mata during his election campaign.

During a recent public meeting in Tukkuguda, CM Revanth Reddy allegedly claimed that the Akshinthas distributed by VHP were not from Ayodhya, but made with PDS rice. VHP leaders accused Revanth Reddy of playing vote bank politics by trying to appeal to Muslims and Christians at the expense of hurting Hindu sentiments.

The VHP also pointed out statements made by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and BRS working president KT Rama Rao, who reportedly said that saying Jai Shri Ram will not help with finding a job or getting water for fields. VHP leaders claimed that these comments were mocking Hindu customs. They also criticized Congress leader Addanki Dayakar for allegedly insulting Hinduism and losing touch with his conscience.
