Former MP V Hanumantha Rao believes that there is a strong Congress wave sweeping across the country, and predicts that the party will win a majority of seats in alliance with the INDIA alliance this time. He expressed his confidence during a media interaction at Gandhi Bhavan, after returning from campaigning for the party and Rahul Gandhi in Rae Bareli, UP.
Rao praised Rahul Gandhi for understanding the people’s problems during his extensive walkathon across the country, contrasting this with what he views as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s lack of awareness. He firmly stated that Congress will secure their traditional bastions like Rae Bareli and Amethi in the upcoming elections.
He highlighted Rahul Gandhi’s decision to contest from Rae Bareli as a sign of his readiness to face challenges, and expressed confidence in winning both Rae Bareli and Wayanad in Kerala. Rao criticized Modi for his negative campaign against the Congress leadership, particularly Rahul Gandhi, during his tour of UP, where he observed discontent among farmers and voters ready to oust the BJP.
As the 33rd death anniversary of former PM Rajiv Gandhi approaches on May 21, Rao informed that the State Congress unit will pay respects to the late leader. He extended invitations to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other party members to join in observing the occasion.
