Dr G Bhanu Prakaash Reddy, the Head of the Biochemistry division and senior scientist at the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) in Hyderabad, has received the esteemed Vepachedu Gopalkishan Memorial Endowment Award. This award was given to him by the Department of Biochemistry at Osmania University in Hyderabad, in recognition of his research work in the field of biochemistry.
Dr Reddy, who completed his PhD in Biochemistry from Osmania University, has also conducted postdoctoral research at IISc in Bengaluru and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, USA. His primary focus is on studying molecular nutrition in relation to chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) and age-related disorders. He aims to understand the underlying causes of these diseases, the molecular processes involved, the role of micronutrients, and the potential protective effects of functional foods and novel bioactive molecules.
Dr Reddy’s dedication and expertise in the field of biochemistry have earned him this prestigious award. His research work contributes to our understanding of how nutrition can impact our health and provides insights into potential strategies for preventing and managing NCDs.
