Dachepalli Ravinder, the Vice Chancellor of Telangana University, was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in exchange for allotting an examination center. When asked by the media for a comment, he refused to say anything and was taken to the hospital for a medical check-up by ACB sleuths.
When questioned further about whether he accepted the bribe or not, he simply replied with “No comment.” He also denied having the power to appoint lecturers on a contract basis, in response to allegations that he had taken money for such appointments.
Some have speculated that Ravinder may have been framed because he had recently criticized the government, but he did not comment on this either. The situation is ongoing and more information may be released in the future.
