    Varad to be released for Tungabhadra reservoir

    Heavy rainfall in the regions of North Karnataka has led to the Tungabhadra reservoir reaching its full capacity. The Tungabhadra Board released excess water into the Varada River on Saturday.

    Following this, the release of water into the Tungabhadra dam began on Monday. The officials of the Tungabhadra Board have announced that there are opportunities for heavy inflow of water from the Tungabhadra and Bhadra projects. Currently, there are 17,061 cubic feet per second (cusecs) of inflow and 255 cusecs of outflow in the dam.

    The water level is currently at 3.911 feet, according to Raghavendra, the section officer of the dam. The start of water release from the Tungabhadra dam has brought joy to farmers in Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh states. Farmers in these three states heavily rely on the water from the Tungabhadra river for irrigation purposes.

    With the release of water from the Tungabhadra dam, the people and farmers in the surrounding areas are relieved as they depend on it for their livelihoods.
