Vanguard Group plans to set up Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad

Vanguard Group, a well-known global investment management company, has announced that it will open its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, and it will be located in Hyderabad.

A team from Vanguard recently met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his home in Jubilee Hills to discuss the project. After the meeting, the company confirmed its plan to move forward with setting up the centre. Vanguard’s team included top executives like CEO Salim Ramji, CIO Nitin Tandon, Chief HR Officer John Couchar, and India GCC Head Venkatesh Natarajan. Telangana Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and other officials also attended.

Vanguard plans to officially open the Hyderabad centre by the end of this year. Over the next four years, the company aims to hire about 2,300 employees as part of its growth plans.

Vanguard manages around $10 trillion in assets and serves over 50 million investors worldwide. The new Hyderabad centre will be a hub for innovation and will focus on advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, and Mobile Engineering. The company is already preparing to hire professionals with skills in these areas.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed Vanguard’s decision, calling it a big step toward turning Hyderabad into a global centre for GCCs. He said that this move will boost the city’s global image and offer more job opportunities for talented professionals in India. The Telangana government has promised full support to help Vanguard set up the centre.

Vanguard CEO Salim Ramji said Hyderabad was chosen because of its skilled workforce, good quality of life, strong tech background, and a supportive environment for innovation. He also thanked the state government for its support in making this decision.

The company also said that, along with serving its global clients, it wants to provide career opportunities for engineers who specialize in AI, mobile technology, and cloud computing.
