The Telangana government has appointed Vakati Karuna, the Principal Secretary of the Education Department, as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Telangana University, Nizamabad. This decision came after the former Vice-Chancellor, Ravinder Gupta, was released on bail following his arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The ACB conducted inspections and interrogated individuals who had paid money to the VC. They also examined the university’s financial transactions. The interrogations of past registrars provided important information, which was included in a detailed report submitted to the government.
