Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy and IT and Industries Minister K Taraka Rama Rao will be attending the Borlaug International Conference in Demoyin, Iowa, USA from October 24 to 26. They have received official approval from the Telangana state government to travel for this event. The conference aims to showcase the progress made by the Telangana agriculture sector in the past decade.
Terry Branstad, the President of the World Food Prize Foundation, invited KTR to speak about Telangana’s advancements in agriculture. In response to this invitation, both ministers will share insights and discuss the pro-agriculture policies implemented by the Telangana government.
The Borlaug International Conference is an annual gathering that focuses on food security challenges in the global agriculture sector. It is named after Norman Borlaug, who played a key role in the global green revolution. This year’s conference expects around 1,200 attendees from around the world, with many more participating online.
Ministers KTR and Singireddy Niranjan Reddy will be accompanied by Finance Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao, and Telangana Seeds MD Dr Keshavulu. Their presence emphasizes Telangana’s commitment to agricultural development and addressing global food security challenges.
