Upset Revanth Plans Meeting with Southern Chief Ministers

Hyderabad:

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticized the Union Budget, saying it ignored Telangana. He accused the NDA government of being biased against the state.

Revanth announced plans to gather Chief Ministers from Southern States for a meeting. He has already informed the Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and plans to invite the AP Chief Minister as well. The goal of this meeting is to create a coordinated action plan to fight for their rights against the Centre.

Revanth called the budget a “Kursi Bachao” budget and claimed that the three states would reveal that Modi’s NDA stands for “Naidu-Nitish Dependent Alliance.” He said that the eight Congress Lok Sabha members from Telangana will protest in Parliament against the unfair treatment in the budget.

Revanth warned that continued discrimination by the Centre could lead to another movement. He said the Southern Chief Ministers would also discuss issues like delimitation, delays in permissions for key projects, and neglect of southern states during their meeting.

He expressed hope that the BRS party would support a resolution condemning the discrimination against Telangana. Revanth urged LoP K Chandrasekhar Rao to attend the session, support the resolution, and join the fight against the Centre. If Rao does not attend, it would mean he has surrendered to the BJP, Revanth said. He found it unfortunate that the Finance Minister did not mention Telangana during her 90-minute budget speech, calling it a sign of vindictive attitude.

Revanth questioned how Modi could dream of achieving a $5 trillion economy while ignoring a major city like Hyderabad. He labeled the slogan “sabka saath sabka vikas” as bogus, claiming that if the Centre was serious about inclusive development, it would not have ignored Telangana.
