During the workshop, experts talked about both successes and challenges in drug development. They discussed the failure of Compuchin’s drug, Digit, as an example of why it’s important to combine different methods—both computer-based (in silico) and lab-based (in vitro)—for stronger drug development.

The panel also looked at how AI is playing a growing role in cancer treatment and biopharmaceutical development. They explained that AI helps in creating targeted treatments, but it doesn’t replace the need for doctors to make final decisions. Ethical considerations and clinical judgment were highlighted as crucial in using AI effectively.
