Hyderabad: Professor B. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, released posters for the Telangana Narcotic Bureau on Friday. He emphasized the need for everyone to join together in the fight against drug abuse in educational institutions.
Professor Rao expressed concern about the growing problem of drug abuse, which he said is leading to serious social issues. He urged for a collective effort to tackle and eliminate this problem as soon as possible.
Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar of the University, stressed the importance of awareness programmes to educate people about the dangers and harmful effects of drugs. He highlighted the role of awareness in preventing drug abuse.
Dr. B. Krishnaiah, NSS Coordinator at the University, also called for proactive steps to address the issue. He announced that the NSS cell would soon organize various activities, including awareness campaigns and anti-drug drives, in partnership with the Telangana State Anti-Narcotic Bureau. These efforts aim to spread awareness and reduce drug abuse in the community.
