Slow Road Construction Causes Traffic Chaos and Health Concerns

The residents of Tolichowki and surrounding areas are facing severe inconvenience due to prolonged road construction and dust pollution. Several roads have been dug up for over a year, leading to heavy dust clouds, slow-moving traffic, and serious health risks for commuters and locals.

Key Affected Areas and Pending Works

  • Tolichowki to Tombs Road – Roadwork has been pending for over two years, with extremely slow progress.
  • Brindavan Colony to Paramount Hills & Hakeempet to Paramount Hills – Roads have been completely dug up for the past four months, making daily travel a nightmare.
  • Salarjung Colony Road – Concrete (CC) road works remain unfinished, worsening traffic congestion.
  • Mehdipatnam Main Road – Ongoing TGSPDCL works have left the major road dug up, causing severe traffic problems and delays.
  • Nanal Nagar & Karol Bagh – The roads here have been half-dug for six months, with no visible progress in repairs or construction.

Health & Safety Concerns Due to Dust Pollution

The continuous dust clouds rising from dug-up roads and heavy traffic movement are posing serious health hazards for residents. Prolonged exposure to dust pollution can cause respiratory problems, eye irritation, and skin allergies, particularly for children, elderly, and asthma patients.

Ramzan Festivities at Risk Amid Traffic Woes

With Ramzan approaching, the worsening traffic situation is causing major distress to residents and commuters. The already congested roads will face even more pressure during festival shopping and travel, making daily commuting more difficult and time-consuming.

Authorities Ignoring Public Complaints

Despite multiple complaints in newspapers and TV channels, no concrete action has been taken by authorities to speed up road construction or control dust pollution. Residents are urging the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and concerned departments to take immediate action and complete the pending works before the situation worsens further.

With rising public frustration, the delay in road repairs is becoming a major civic issue, demanding urgent intervention from officials.
