Umang 2.0, the jewellery and lifestyle expo organized by Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) Hyderabad, has started in Hyderabad. The expo has a wide range of items on display, including papads, diamond jewelry, hair pins, luxury properties, and branded items like GM switches and Porsche cars. There are over 500 exhibitors showcasing their products at the expo, which covers an area of 2 lakh sq ft in three halls at Hitex. The expo was inaugurated by Rajarshri Shah, Medak district Collector, along with JITO Hyderabad chairman Sushil Sancheti, chief secretary Paresh Shah, and Treasurer BL Bhandari.
During the inauguration, a dance drama called ‘Colours of India’ was performed. The organizers also arranged for a band called Mirajkar, consisting of 50 performers from Solapur, Maharashtra, to play drums. The visitors were given a surprise by being transported in retro and vintage cars like Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, and Audi cars.
Rajarshri Shah spoke about the significance of Umang 2.0, stating that it represents the spirit of entrepreneurship and a celebration of success. He also highlighted the contribution of the Jain community to the GDP, despite their smaller population.
Sushil Sancheti emphasized that the exhibition is not just about business but also about motivation and celebration. There will be various sessions and activities throughout the expo, including spiritual sessions, motivational sessions by Dr Vivek Bindra, women and youth conclaves, Sufi night, Kavi Sammelan, and Dandiya night.
Prakash Sethiya from TNAPTS zone praised JITO Hyderabad for putting up a successful jewellery show that has gained national attention. He mentioned that other zones are looking at this expo and that the Jain community has the potential to double their business.
Paresh Shah, the chief secretary, mentioned that JITO Hyderabad had organized 169 programs last year. He also provided information about the organization’s membership, with 544 members in the main wing, 422 members in the ladies wing, and 801 members in the youth wing.
