NALSAR University of Law Welcomes Two Senior Professors for 2025 Semester

NALSAR University of Law, located in Hyderabad, is gearing up for its upcoming semester starting in January 2025. The university is excited to announce the addition of two senior professors to its academic team.

According to Professor Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice Chancellor of NALSAR, these new appointments will play a key role in enhancing the university’s academic environment. The focus will be on advancing teaching and research in the fields of Law, Human Rights, and Public Policy in the coming years.

One of the new appointees is Dr. TVSN Prasad, who has joined NALSAR as the Distinguished Professor of Economics and Public Policy. Dr. Prasad, a former Chief Secretary of Haryana and State Finance Secretary, brings with him over 37 years of extensive experience across the World Bank, government, and private sectors.

Dr. Prasad has held several significant positions, including roles in India’s National Mission for Clean Ganga and as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is known for leading impactful initiatives such as the establishment of India’s first Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Coordination Centre and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project.

The second appointee is Professor Sitharamam Kakarla, who has previously taught at Azim Premji University and the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Professor Kakarla specializes in Human Rights Law, Constitutionalism, and interdisciplinary legal studies.

He has taught a wide range of courses, including political theory, law and culture, comparative law, and comparative constitutionalism, making him a valuable addition to NALSAR’s faculty.

These appointments are expected to further strengthen NALSAR’s reputation as a premier institution for legal education and research in India.
