Two RPF Personnel Honored for Exemplary Service
Two Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from South Central Railway (SCR) have been recognized with prestigious awards by the Railway Minister for their outstanding contributions. The awards were given in acknowledgment of their dedicated service and quick actions that saved lives and protected vulnerable individuals.
T Nagarjuna Reddy, a sub-inspector at the RPF post in Secunderabad, has been commended for his exceptional efforts in combating human trafficking. As the in-charge of the anti-human trafficking unit, he played a key role in rescuing 67 children from traffickers who were exploiting them for bonded labor and sexual abuse. Additionally, through ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte,’ he also rescued 187 minor children who were in urgent need of care and protection.
In another act of bravery, Dudekula Vusenaiah, a head constable with the RPF in Hyderabad, displayed remarkable presence of mind while on duty at Umdanagar railway station. He noticed a person crossing the railway tracks, unaware of an approaching train despite repeated warnings from the loco pilot. Acting swiftly, Vusenaiah rushed to the individual and pulled him to safety, averting a potential tragedy.
Recognizing their contributions, T Nagarjuna Reddy was honored with the ‘Railway Minister’s Mahila Ewam Bal Suraksha Padak’ for his work in protecting women and children. Meanwhile, Dudekula Vusenaiah received the ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak’ for his life-saving act of bravery.
These awards highlight the dedication and heroism of the RPF personnel in safeguarding lives and ensuring the safety of passengers and vulnerable individuals.
