Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Mega Reddy Highlights a Year of Transformative Development
Transforming Wanaparthy and Pebbair
Tudi Mega Reddy, MLA of Wanaparthy constituency, recently spoke to The Hans India about the progress made during his first year in office under the Congress government. He highlighted significant development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public amenities. ₹60 crore was secured through the Telangana Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDC)—₹50 crore for Wanaparthy municipality and ₹10 crore for Pebbair municipality. Additionally, ₹80 crore was obtained under the central government’s Amruth Scheme to enhance water supply, roads, parks, and other public services in these areas.
Empowering Women Through Self-Help Groups
To support women, ₹5 crore was allocated for a Mahila Samikhya building. This facility will act as a hub for self-help groups, providing resources and programs to empower women.
Improving Rural Infrastructure
Rural development received significant attention, with ₹30 crore allocated under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) for constructing roads and drains in villages and mandals. An additional ₹10 crore from the Special Development Fund was directed toward improving internal roads in mandal headquarters and municipalities.
Boosting Educational Facilities
Education was another key focus, with ₹14 crore spent on constructing Amma Adarsha Patashalas and ₹64 crore allocated for renovating government schools and colleges. Notably, this includes schools where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy studied. Plans are also underway for a Young India Integrated School, with an investment of ₹150 crore.
Advancing Healthcare Services
Healthcare improvements include a new ₹202-crore, 502-bed Government General Hospital, sanctioned by the state government. This facility will complement the existing medical college and provide advanced healthcare services to residents.
Providing Housing for the Poor
Housing initiatives have made significant progress, with 5,300 houses already secured under the state government’s housing scheme. For the upcoming year, ₹19.25 crore will be spent on constructing Indiramma houses for underprivileged families.
Positioning Wanaparthy as an IT Hub
Plans to establish Wanaparthy as an IT hub are underway. The government has sanctioned ₹22 crore for an IT Hub, with the foundation stone set to be laid soon by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. This initiative aims to bring IT investments and create new job opportunities.
Upcoming Infrastructure Projects
Several major projects are in the pipeline:
– ₹81 crore for a new Court Complex.
– ₹42 crore for doubling and improving the Wanaparthy to Pedda Mandadi road.
– ₹40 crore for Panchayat Raj road works under MRR and CRR funds.
Proposals have also been sent to the central government for a Navodaya Central School and a Krishi Vigyan Kendra research center.
Support for Farmers
Farmers have received ₹1.6 crore in relief for crop damage caused by rains. Additionally, ₹50 crore has been invested in new transformers and power lines to support farmland. Under Congress government initiatives, farmers are provided with free electricity up to 200 units and a ₹500 bonus for producing fine paddy. Rythu Bharosa funds will also be credited to farmers’ accounts from Sankranti, benefiting those with up to 10 acres of land.
Fulfilling Congress' Six Guarantees
The Congress government has delivered on 95% of its promises, including free bus travel for women, ₹500 subsidized cooking gas, and ₹25,000 crore in farm loan waivers. Plans are also in motion to increase old-age pensions from ₹2,000 to ₹4,000 and distribute new ration cards with fine rice supply.
Vision for Wanaparthy’s Future
Looking ahead, Tudi Mega Reddy envisions Wanaparthy as the top district in Telangana. Key goals include establishing a ₹100-crore sports university, expanding healthcare and education facilities, and improving infrastructure. With the support of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, he aims to bring even more transformative changes to the district in the coming years.
