TTD Releases Health Guidelines for Pilgrims Using Tirumala Footpath

TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has provided health guidelines for pilgrims who plan to walk the footpath to reach the temple of Lord Venkateswara, located atop Tirumala.

In its advisory, TTD has urged elderly people and those with health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, epilepsy, or heart problems to avoid using the challenging staircase route.

Officials explained that Tirumala’s high altitude results in lower oxygen levels, which can be difficult for people with chronic health conditions. Pilgrims with long-term health issues are advised to carry their necessary medications while making the climb.

For those who face health problems during the journey, medical help is available at several points, including the 1,500th step, Galigopuram, and Bhasyakarlu Sannidhi. Additionally, TTD assured that emergency medical services are available at hospitals in Tirumala, providing quick assistance to anyone in need.
