The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) and Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) have signed an agreement with the Institut Français en Inde (IFI – The French Institute in India) to introduce French language in their schools. Initially, French will be taught in about 20 TSWREIS/TTWREIS schools and may expand to other schools based on student interest. The language will be taught from Classes V to XII.
As part of the collaboration, the French Institute will provide training to TSWREIS and TTWREIS teachers in communicative French and give students access to cultural and academic resources. Learning French offers various benefits such as improved job opportunities, better cultural understanding, access to higher education institutions, enhanced cognitive abilities, and personal development through travel.
Dr. E Naveen Nicolas, Secretary of TSWREIS & TTWREIS, emphasized the importance of education in achieving social justice. The government of Telangana is dedicated to strengthening education for children from historically marginalized communities through TSWREIS & TTWREIS. This partnership not only opens doors to success in a globally connected world but also focuses on developing in-house teacher capacity for long-term French instruction.
