The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in Hyderabad has achieved a new record on Raksha Bandhan. They earned a record revenue of Rs 22.65 crores in a single day. Additionally, a record number of 40.92 lakh people traveled in TSRTC buses on this occasion. This is the highest revenue and passenger count in the history of TSRTC. Last year, the income was Rs 21.66 crores and 39.90 lakh passengers traveled on Rakhi day.
The combined Nalgonda district has repeated last year’s record with an Occupancy Ratio (OR) of 104.68 percent. Out of the 7 depots in that district, all except Narket Pally achieved more than 100 percent OR. Warangal district recorded a 97.05 percent OR with 6 depots achieving more than 100 OR. The combined districts of Medak, Mahbubnagar, and Karimnagar also had an OR of more than 90 percent. Overall, OR crossed over 100 percent at 20 depots in the state.
All the buses in the respective depots were full of passengers. Many depots, including Huzurabad, Nalgonda, Bhupalapally, Husnabad, and Parakala, had an OR of more than 100 percent. TSRTC also achieved an all-time record for Earnings per Kilometer (EPK), with Warangal-1 depot earning Rs. 65.94 per km and Bhupalapally earning Rs. 65.64 per km.
TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar expressed gratitude to the public for their support and mentioned that such a feat had not been achieved before in the history of combined Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
