TS introduces new campaign 'Badi Bata' with innovative approach

The state government in Hyderabad is working on a program called Professor Jayashankar Badi Bata to improve government schools and increase student enrollment. The campaign aims to persuade parents to choose government schools for their children to save money for their future education expenses, rather than spending on expensive private schools.

Efforts have been made to focus on government schools by establishing ‘Amma Adarsha Patashala Committees’ in every school in the state. These committees are working on renovating schools, providing free textbooks, clothing, mid-day meals, and education in English and Telugu mediums. Additionally, students are receiving free shoes this academic year. The Badi Bata program will run until June 19, with the participation of education department officials, headmasters, youth associations, and public representatives to enroll high-achieving children and dropouts in government schools.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed education department officials and district collectors to renovate public schools and change parents’ mindsets during the Badi Bata program. Over 20,000 Amma Adarsh School Committees have been formed out of the total 26,823 schools in the state. The government has already started temporary repairs on school infrastructure like doors, windows, blackboards, electric switchboards, fans, and toilets this summer.
