The Election Commission of India is expected to announce the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections soon. In order to avoid any violations of the election code, the Congress government in Hyderabad is planning to hold the budget session of the Assembly early this year. This will help in the announcement of new schemes and allocation of funds without any issues.
Normally, the budget session is held in March. However, with the Lok Sabha elections expected to take place in April, the government wants to complete the budget outlay process before the election schedule is announced. The Finance department has asked all other departments to compile expenditure data and budget proposals for the new financial year.
The government aims to finalize the budget outlay based on the estimations and allocations made in the Union Budget-2024-25, which will be presented on February 1. The Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, will hold meetings with the Finance and welfare departments to finalize the outlay.
The government has already announced the implementation of six guarantees, and funds for their implementation will be included in the budget proposals.
