Hyderabad: TRSMA Urges Government to Keep CGPA System

The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) has requested the State government to retain the CGPA system of evaluation. The appeal was made on Friday, emphasizing the benefits of the current system.

Sadula Madhusudhan, the caretaker president of TRSMA, highlighted that the CGPA system is more child-friendly. He explained that it reduces the stress and pressure often associated with traditional exams. This system encourages students to focus on learning rather than merely chasing marks, promoting a healthier and more balanced approach to academics.

Later in the day, the Education Department announced a partial modification to its earlier orders. It clarified that the system of awarding 100 percent marks for external assessments will begin in the academic year 2025-26. For the academic year 2024-25, the current practice of allocating 80 percent marks to external assessments and 20 percent to internal assessments will continue.
