The 58th death anniversary of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, was observed on Thursday. Members of the royal family and various social organizations paid tribute at his mausoleum at Masjid-e-Jodi in King Kothi.
Syed Abdullah Quadri, Mohammed Abdul Qadeer Siddiqui, Mohammed Rizwan Qureshi, Syed Abbas, historians, social activists, and others also paid their respects.
Mir Osman Ali Khan, born on April 6, 1886, ruled Hyderabad from 1911 to 1948. After Hyderabad State became a part of India, he served as Rajpramukh until 1956. He passed away on February 24, 1967, at the King Koti Palace.
The Nizam’s death and funeral are still remembered by the people of Hyderabad. His funeral procession, which took place the day after his death, was the largest ever seen in the city. The five-kilometer route from Mecca Masjid to Masjid-e-Judi was crowded with mourners.
