Tribal Leader Warns of Extreme Action Over Neglect

Adivasi Tudum Debba state leader Ganesh has warned that if the government and officials continue to ignore the issues of the tribal community, they may be forced to take extreme steps, comparing their struggle to Naxal movements.

For many years, the tribal residents of Komaram Bheem Colony in Adilabad have been demanding basic facilities and land rights. They have repeatedly appealed to the District Collector, government officials, and elected representatives, but their problems remain unresolved. Frustrated by this neglect, the tribal community held a large protest outside the district collector’s office on Saturday. They blocked the entrance and shouted slogans against the government’s lack of response.

During the protest, tensions rose as a scuffle broke out between the police and the demonstrators. However, leader Gedam Ganesh stepped in and calmed the situation. He strongly criticized officials, including the Collector, SP, RDO, and MROs, accusing them of supporting land grabbers and real estate developers instead of helping the tribal people.

Ganesh also accused former MLA Jogu Ramanna, MP G. Nagesh, MLA Payal Shankar, and Congress leader Kandi Srinivas Reddy of ignoring tribal welfare. He further criticized Seethakka, the state and district in-charge minister, for failing to take action despite being a tribal leader herself.

The protesters demanded access to electricity, clean drinking water, and land rights. They alleged that the Adilabad Transco SE deliberately ignored their requests due to caste discrimination. Ganesh also called for action against real estate businessman Kalyan Bhoomareddy, accusing him of illegally acquiring government land.
