The TSRTC (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill, 2023 is still uncertain as the Monsoon Session of the Assembly is ending today. The State government is waiting for the Governor’s consent on the Draft Bill. The Governor arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday and will meet with Transport department officials to gather more information before giving approval to the bill. The Minister for Transport has informed the Assembly Speaker that the Bill will be tabled once it receives the Governor’s approval.
The Governor has been seeking clarification on various aspects of the TSRTC’s merger into Government services. She has asked for details about the Centre’s approval for the merger process and the future of the Corporation’s assets in case of a merger. She expressed concern about a strike conducted by RTC employees and showed support through Tweets. She also interacted with TSRTC employee JAC and two union representatives to hear their grievances about the provisions of the TSRTC bill through a Video Conference.
