Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has instructed officials to develop Kaleshwaram in Bhupalpally district into a top-tier pilgrimage destination.
The Minister emphasized the need to build world-class infrastructure at the Mukteshwara Temple and Pushkar Ghats along the Godavari River. He wants Kaleshwaram to be on par with renowned spiritual centers like Kashi, Haridwar, and Prayagraj.
During a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Saturday, Sridhar Babu discussed preparations for the upcoming Saraswati Antharvahini Pushkaralu festival, which will take place from May 15 to May 26. He insisted on creating permanent, aesthetically pleasing infrastructure that combines modern amenities with cultural and spiritual significance, rather than relying on temporary solutions.
He explained the unique importance of the Saraswati Pushkaralu festival, celebrated only at Kaleshwaram. This sacred site marks the confluence of the Godavari and Pranahita rivers with the underground Saraswati stream, making it spiritually exceptional.
The Minister urged officials to efficiently utilize the allocated Rs 25 crore for improving facilities. This includes modernizing bathing ghats, improving sanitation, and creating lasting landmarks that enhance the site’s appeal to pilgrims.
He also directed that the bathing ghats be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for visitors, emphasizing the importance of long-term development in the area.
