Hyderabad: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website has once again caused problems for passengers trying to book tatkal tickets during the festive season. Many users have complained about difficulties and irregularities due to server issues while attempting to book train tickets.
Several passengers reported that when they tried to access the IRCTC website, a message appeared saying, “Booking and cancellation for all sites would not be available for the next hour. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.” This left many passengers frustrated, turning the process of booking tickets into a stressful experience. According to users, these issues are not new and seem to happen frequently.
One passenger, Sai Teja, an IT employee, shared his experience. “When I tried to book a ticket from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, the screen suddenly disappeared. I had no choice but to book a ticket on a private bus instead. These problems with tatkal bookings, especially around 10 AM, are very common. The site often freezes or crashes, making it difficult to reserve seats.”
Another passenger, Robin, echoed similar concerns. “The IRCTC website cannot handle the high number of users during peak times. The user load capacity needs to be improved. Even after the website was restored, there was no response to my complaints. It’s disappointing that the Railway Department hasn’t updated or improved the site.”
Many passengers have expressed frustration over the recurring server issues. “Every time I try to book a ticket, the site freezes or crashes. It’s a terrible experience for customers,” said another user. These ongoing problems have left passengers questioning why the Railway Department hasn’t taken steps to resolve them.
