Four coaches of a goods train between Kazipet and Sanathnagar derailed at Uppariguda in Malkajgiri circle on Friday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the reason for the derailment is still unknown.
The incident happened when the train, carrying coal, reached the Uppariguda railway crossing and went off the tracks, causing the coal load to spill.
Upon receiving the news, technical and medical teams, along with senior officials, quickly responded to the scene. They managed to detach the derailed coaches and began repair work. This disruption affected train movement on the busy route and services to Secunderabad. It took about two hours for the technical team to separate the affected coaches. An inquiry into the incident has been initiated by a senior officer.
