Traditional fervour marks Navroz celebrations in Hyderabad's Parsi community

The Parsi community in Hyderabad celebrated their new year, Navroz, with enthusiasm. They visited the fire temples in the city and enjoyed a delicious meal. The celebrations began in the morning with community members wearing new clothes and visiting the fire temples. In the evening, various entertainment programs were organized at the Parsidharamshala. The Parsi New Year marks the first day of the Zoroastrian calendar and is celebrated worldwide in March. Prayers were held at the AnjumanAgiary and Old Agiary, followed by high tea. The community also gathered at the Parsi dharmashala for a get-together. During the ten-day festival, they pay homage to ancestors and enjoy delicious food. They decorate their homes with flowers and make unique rangoli designs. Fish is considered auspicious and can be seen in front of many Parsi houses.
