TPCC to hold extended meeting on Feb 23 to plan election strategy

The Congress party in Telangana is gearing up for the upcoming MLC elections. To strategize and gain support from graduate voters, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has scheduled an extended executive meeting on February 23.

The meeting will be attended by the newly appointed AICC state in-charge, Meenakshi Natarajan, along with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. They will discuss crucial topics such as the local body elections, the political situation in the state, and internal party matters. The party hopes this meeting will help strengthen coordination between the state government and the party organization.

During a virtual meeting with Telangana leaders on Wednesday evening, Meenakshi Natarajan urged ministers and party members to work together to secure the MLC seat. She emphasized the importance of winning this election, as it could influence the upcoming local body polls. Having previously observed the Assembly elections in Telangana, she reminded party workers of the need for collective effort and dedication to ensure victory.

Sources revealed that discussions also focused on resolving internal conflicts within the party. There were concerns about misunderstandings between government officials and party members, as well as internal power struggles. Issues such as secret meetings held by some MLAs and competition among ministers for influence were also brought up.

The decision to hold the extended executive meeting was made after these deliberations. The virtual meeting was attended by PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud, CM Revanth Reddy, and several ministers, including N Uttam Kumar Reddy, C Damodar Rajanarsimha, Seethakka, D Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha, and Jupally Krishna Rao, along with MLC Jeevan Reddy and MLC candidate Narender Reddy.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed confidence in the Congress party’s chances of winning the MLC elections. He reminded party members that the Congress government had launched several development and welfare programs, fulfilling its poll promises. He highlighted achievements such as the creation of 55,000 jobs, the establishment of a Skills University and a Sports University, and attracting investments worth nearly Rs 2 lakh crore. He urged party workers to communicate these accomplishments effectively to graduate voters ahead of the elections.
