Pakistan’s total score of 337/3 was their second-highest run chase in an ODI match. Captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan also played well, but it was Fakhar who stole the show.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell scored 129 runs, including eight boundaries and three sixes. His score was the highest by a New Zealand player in an ODI match in Pakistan. However, Pakistan were cruising towards victory with Fakhar and Babar at the crease until the latter fell, followed by Abdullah Shafique. Rizwan then joined Fakhar and they guided Pakistan to victory, giving them a 2-0 lead in the five-game ODI series.
