According to officials from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), the new reservoirs include a 2.5 million-litre reservoir at Sport Park in Alkapuri, Manikonda municipality, a five million-litre reservoir at Greenland, Manchirevu in Narsingi municipality, and a two million-litre reservoir in Shamshabad municipality. These reservoirs will provide a long-term solution for water supply issues in Greenlands, Manchirevu, and surrounding areas, with a total filtration capacity of 11 million litres per day (MLD).

To further improve water supply, the Water Board has also built two pressure filters at Himayat Sagar and Budvel. Each filter has a capacity of five MLD and three MLD, respectively, and will take water from Himayat Sagar to meet summer demands. These filters will benefit residents of Himayat Sagar village and Dargah Kaliskan. The construction cost was Rs 2.75 crore for the five MLD filter and Rs 1.75 crore for the three MLD filter.

Additionally, another pressure filter with a capacity of three MLD has been built at Gandipet village. This will help improve the water supply to Gandipet village and surrounding areas. The new infrastructure will also allow water tankers to be filled at two existing tanker filling stations, ensuring a more reliable water supply for the region.
